Commensurate Scale Generation Methods

Given the variety of scales on which attributes can be measured, multicriteria decision analysis requires that the values contained in the various criterion map layers be transformed to comparable units. A number of approaches can be used to make criterion map layers comparable, e.g. linear scale transformation method, value/utility function approaches, probabilistic approach, etc.
